Patient concern

Crowded upper front teeth and a shade the patient felt was too dark.

Clinical assessment

Crowding and rotation accounted for most of the appearance. Shade was a separate, secondary issue. Enamel was intact, which meant an additive approach was available and no veneers were required.

Treatment rationale

Position was corrected first with Invisalign, then whitening set the final shade, and composite bonding refined edge shape and proportion last. Sequencing in that order meant the bonding could be matched to the finished shade and no healthy tooth was removed.
