Invisalign and whitening

Patient concern

Teeth that had shifted out of position and had gradually darkened with age.

Clinical assessment

Alignment and shade were the only two factors present. Tooth shape, gum health and bite were all within normal limits, so no restorative treatment was indicated.

Treatment rationale

The result was achieved without adding any material to the teeth. Alignment corrected position and whitening corrected shade, which is the least invasive combination available for this presentation. No bonding or ceramic work was recommended, because none was needed.
