A heavily restored front tooth that no longer matched its neighbour and needed full protection.
Clinical assessment
Too little sound tooth remained for a partial-coverage restoration, so full coverage was indicated. The underlying tooth was darker than the adjacent teeth, which made material choice and shade planning the deciding factors for the result.
Treatment rationale
Lithium disilicate was chosen because it transmits light in a way a metal-based crown cannot, which matters on a single front tooth sitting beside natural enamel. Shade, translucency and surface texture were recorded with the laboratory before preparation, and the crown was bonded rather than only cemented so it supports the remaining tooth.
