How does Invisalign® work?

Using a force that is gentle but constant, Invisalign® treatment guides your teeth into a new position. Moreover, with advanced 3D computer-imaging technology, patients understand the entire treatment plan from the initial position to the final desired outcome.

Invisalign® are custom-made for your teeth, realigning them slowly in controlled movements. Patients wear each aligner for about two weeks before it’s replaced by the next in the treatment cycle.

Dr Vikas Prinja will develop a treatment plan based on the specific needs of each patient.

When do dentists recommend Invisalign®?

We recommend Invisalign® as a corrective option for our patients who have overcrowding, crooked smiles or gaps and need to realign only a few teeth, usually in the front of their mouth.

Will I have to compromise my dental routine with Invisalign®?

Invisalign® created a product with the least disruption to your dental routine in mind, but it is important you follow your oral hygiene regimen. Moreover, as the Invisalign® system is removable, you can continue to brush and floss your teeth with products that work for your dental health. Brushing your aligners with a non-abrasive toothpaste will keep them clean and fresh.

How long does the treatment take?

Your Invisalign® provider, Dr Vikas Prinja will determine the total treatment time based on the severity of the misaligned teeth and your specific situation. Treatment time may be shorter than traditional braces and can take from 6 to 18 months. While undergoing treatment you should wear your aligners for 22 hours each day. You may remove them for eating, drinking coloured beverages and regular oral hygiene.
